Since ushering in the telecommunications revolution with the development of low-loss optical fiber in 1970, optical communications became one of the most popular methods of communication for their high bandwidth, exceptionally low loss, great transmission range and no electromagnetic interference. Indeed, optical communication changes the way the world connects since then. Optical communication technology has brought great changes to our life, and promoted the development of our society and economy. Optical information processing, an emerging discipline developed in recent years, is an important part of modern information processing technology by combining communication and optics, which has successfully solved many scientific problems, breathed new life into the field and become a very active research direction.
The 2nd International Conference on Optical Communication and Optical Information Processing (OCOIP 2024) will be held in Wuhan, China, from December 20-22, 2024, which is organized by the School of Physics, Hefei University of Technology, China, co-organized by the School of Communication and Information Engineering, Shanghai University, China, iPatLab. It focuses to present the latest theoretical advances and experimental state of the art in the newly developing field of optical communication and optical information processing, with particular emphasis on applications to communication, information storage and processing. The conference aims to share research results, advance the development of the discipline and promote the cultivation of talents. We sincerely welcome all experts and scholars in the related fields to attend the conference.
OCOIP2024 accepted and presented papers will be published in International Conference Proceedings by SPIE (ISSN: 0277-786X), submitted to Ei Compendex, Scopus, Web of Science Conference Proceedings Citation Index, and other scholarly indexes, to ensure maximum awareness of the Proceedings.

Wuhan, composed of the three towns of Wuchang, Hankou, and Hanyang, is the capital of Hubei Province. The three towns, separated by the Yangtze and Hanshui rivers, are linked by bridges, and because these municipalities are so closely connected by waterways, Wuhan is also called the "city on rivers". Being the largest inland port on the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and a major stop on the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, Wuhan is one of China's most important hubs of water and rail transportation and communications. There are many tourist attractions in Wuhan that are worth a visit including Yellow Crane Tower, Guiyuan Buddhist Temple, Chairman Mao Zedong's Villa, Hubu Alley, Heptachord Terrace, East Lake, Yangtze River Bridge, Madame Tussauds, etc.
