OCOIP-OCN'24: Optical Communications and Networks

Optical Communications and Networks is key technology field in today’ s information age, providing unprecedented communication capacity and cost-effective interconnection capability to support bandwidth-hungry applications, such as ultra-broadband access, cloud computing, content sharing and storage, and continuously evolving generations of wireless communication. In this context, OCOIP-OCN'24 aims to bring together global experts, scholars and industry elites to build a diversified, open and innovative sharing platform, and to jointly promote technological innovation and exchange in the field of optical communications and networks, as well as the industrial development of its application areas.

Ruifang Dong
National Time Service Center (NTSC) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS)

Biography: Ruifang Dong, Ph.D. in Physics, is a researcher at the National Time Service Center (NTSC) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS), a teacher at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), and a Ph.D. supervisor. Her main research interests are quantum time synchronisation and high-precision time-frequency transmission over optical fibres.

Wei Zhang
Electronic Engineering Department, Tsinghua University

Biography: Wei Zhang received his Bachelor's degree in 1998 and Ph. D in 2003, respectively, from Electronic Engineering Department, Tsinghua University, China. At present, he is a tenured professor of Tsinghua University and the vice director of the Institute of Information Optoelectronic Technology, Electronic Engineering Department, Tsinghua University. His research interests include micro/nano-photonic devices, integrated photonic quantum devices, photonic quantum information technologies, especially quantum communications and quantum imaging. He is the senior members of Optica (formerly OSA) and Chinese Society for Optical Engineering (CSOE), the members of Chinese Optical Society (COS) and Chinese institute of Communications (CIC).

Hongpu Li
College of Engineering, Shizuoka University

Biography: Hongpu Li received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, in 1985 and 1988, respectively, and received the Ph.D. degree from Shizuoka University, Hamamatsu, Japan, in 2000. From 2000 to 2003, first, he was with the NEC Research Institute, NJ, the Phaethon Communication Inc., CA, USA, and the Laval University, Canada, respectively. In April of 2003, he joined in Shizuoka University, Japan, where he is a full professor at the Dept. of Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. His research interests include nonlinear fiber optics, fiber gratings, fiber sensors, all-optical signal processing, and nanophotonics, etc.

Bo Wang
Department of Precision Instrument, Tsinghua University

Biography: Bo Wang is a tenured associate Professor with the Department of Precision Instrument, Tsinghua University. He is currently the deputy director of the institute of Instrumental Science and Technology at Tsinghua University. His research highlights the principle and technological innovation on the Space-Time and Standards Technology, and fiber network sensing. He has won the Scientific and Technological Progress Award (first class) of Chinese Society for Measurement, and the Beijing Science and Technology Award (second class). He is the work package leader of synchronization and timing system for SKA-LOW, and SKA Consultant Leads committee member. He is the Senior Member of IEEE and OPTICA.

Mingtap Cao
National Time Service Center (NTSC) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS)

Biography: Mingtao Cao, Associate Researcher at the National Timing Centre of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (NTC), and Marie Curie Scholar of the European Union, graduated from the Department of Physics, Xi'an Jiaotong University with his PhD in 2015. In recent years, he has made a series of progress in the fields of quantum computation based on atomic system of systems, optical field modulation, ghost image technology, and quantum storage, and has published 30 papers in important international academic journals, such as Nature Communication, Optica, and Opt. Lett.

Yanhua Luo
School of Communication &Information Engineering, Shanghai University

Biography: Yanhua Luo is a professor at the School of Communication and Information Engineering, Shanghai University. He is mainly engaged in the research of photonic materials and their applications, especially in special optical fibres, optical fibre communication and sensing, and has achieved a series of international leading research results in doped optical fibres, polymer fibre gratings, bismuth erbium optical fibres for ultra-broadband luminescence, and so on.

Huiping Tian
School of Information and Communication Engineering, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications

Biography: Huiping Tian, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Ph.D. Her main research interests are: optical fibre communication, photonic crystal, photonic integration.

Qin Wang
School of Communications and Information Engineering, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications

Biography: Wang Qin, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Vice Dean of School of Communication and Information Engineering, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications. She graduated from University of Science and Technology of China with a PhD and has conducted scientific research in the direction of quantum optics and quantum information at the Royal Institute of Technology of Sweden, the Technical University of Denmark, the Bohr Institute, and several other famous research teams. In recent years, she has led the team to make a series of innovative scientific achievements in the field of quantum information. She is mainly engaged in the research of quantum secure communication, single-photon radar imaging, and the intersection of machine learning and quantum information.

Ruibo Jin
School of Optical Information and Energy Engineering, Wuhan Institute of Technology

Biography: Ruibo Jin is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Wuhan University of Engineering. He received his Ph.D. degree from Tohoku University in 2011, and then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Tohoku University and the National Institute of Information and Communication Technology (NICT) in Japan. He has been engaged in experimental and theoretical research in quantum and classical optics for a considerable period of time.

Liang Hu
School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University

Biography: Liang Hu, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the State Key Laboratory of Regional Optical Fibre Communication Networks and Novel Optical Communication Systems, Department of Electrical Engineering, School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Shanghai Jiaotong University. He is mainly engaged in the research of optical time-frequency transfer, silicon-based integrated time-frequency transfer, ultra-stable lasers, optical frequency comb and other devices and systems.

Xiaosong Yu
School of Electronic Engineering, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications

Biography: Xiaosong Yu, Associate Professor, Ph.D./M.S. Supervisor, Ph.D. of University of California, Davis (UC-Davis), member of IEEE/OSA, senior member of China Communications Association. He is mainly engaged in the research of key technologies of secure optical networks based on quantum key distribution, networking and control technologies of future optical networks (including flexible raster optical networks and space-division multiplexing optical networks), networking and control technologies of the integrated heaven-earth network and key technologies of software-defined optical networks.

Kejin Wei
School of Physical Science and Technology, Guangxi University

Biography: Kejin Wei, Associate Professor of Guangxi University, has a joint PhD from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications & University of Toronto, Canada. Since joining the School of Physical Science and Engineering Technology of Guangxi University in July 2016, he has been mainly engaged in fibre optic quantum communication, quantum true random numbers, and quantum information processing relying on the Guangxi Key Laboratory of Relativistic Astrophysics.

Bo Liu
College for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies, National University of Defense Technology (NUDT)

Biography: Bo Liu, Associate Researcher of College for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies NUDT, major in quantum communication and quantum network. He has presided over 10 scientific research projects at all levels, published more than 40 SCI papers and one book.

Xiao Xiang
National Time Service Center (NTSC) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences

Biography: Xiao Xiang is currently an associate researcher and master's supervisor at the National Time Service Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and a member of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of CAS. In 2021, he obtained his Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), where he was honored with the CAS President's Excellence Award. Furthermore, his doctoral dissertation was selected as an Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation of CAS in 2022. Xiao Xiang's primary research area focuses on high-precision quantum time synchronization technology. Over the past five years, he has published more than 30 academic papers and obtained 7 national invention patents.

Yuan Zhou
School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Hubei University of Automotive Technology

Biography: Zhou Yuan, Associate Professor, Master Supervisor, Ph. He is mainly engaged in the research of quantum optics and quantum information. He serves as an academic reviewer for OE, OL, OME, PR, etc. under Optica; Annalen der Physik, etc.; and related journals under IOP.

Yuxin Xu
College of Information Engineering, Zhejiang University of Technology

Biography: Yuxin Xu is a full-time faculty member at the School of Information Engineering, Zhejiang University of Technology. He is mainly engaged in the research of optical communication, fiber optic communication network, visible light communication and other fields. He was a research scientist at the University of Virginia, where he studied the physical layer loss and prediction model of self-configuring optical networks.

Chenzhi Yuan
School of Optical Information and Energy Engineering, Schiool of Mathematics and Physics, Wuhan Institute of Technology

Biography: Chenzhi Yuan is a lecturer in the School of Optical Information and Energy Engineering, Schiool of Mathematics and Physics, Wuhan Institute of Technology. He is mainly engaged in the research of optical communication band quantum light source, fibre-based quantum network, solid-state quantum storage technology, integrated optoelectronics and other directions.
